At Tristan Jade Streetwear, we want our products to remain looking and feeling their best for as long as possible.
Our products may include heat-pressed or printed designs. Proper care is therefore important to help preserve the garment, print, colours and overall appearance.
Following the care instructions below will help reduce unnecessary wear and damage.
1. General Care
Unless a product-specific care label states otherwise, we recommend:

Wash garments inside out.

Use a gentle or normal wash cycle appropriate for the garment.

Use cold or cool water where possible.
-
Use a mild laundry detergent.
-
Avoid harsh chemicals and bleach.
-
Do not scrub directly over printed or pressed designs.
-
Do not soak printed garments for extended periods.
-
Avoid excessive heat.
-
Follow the care instructions attached to the individual product.
2. Washing
To help protect printed and heat-pressed designs:

Turn the garment inside out before washing.
-
Avoid excessively hot water.
-
Do not use bleach on or around printed designs.
-
Do not use harsh stain-removing chemicals directly on the design.
-
Avoid aggressive washing or scrubbing of the printed area.
Where a garment's individual care label provides different instructions, the product-specific care label should be followed.
3. Drying
We recommend air-drying garments where possible.
Avoid excessive heat from tumble dryers, as high temperatures can contribute to:

Shrinkage;
-
Fading;
-
Damage to fibres;
-
Cracking, lifting or deterioration of printed/pressed designs; and
-
General premature wear.
If a tumble dryer is used, use an appropriate low-heat setting where permitted by the garment's care instructions.
4. Ironing
Do not place a hot iron directly onto printed or heat-pressed designs.
If ironing is necessary:

Turn the garment inside out; or
-
Use a protective cloth between the iron and the design; and
-
Use a suitable low or medium temperature appropriate for the garment.
Direct high heat may damage printed or heat-pressed designs.
5. Dry Cleaning
Unless specifically stated on the product's care label, dry cleaning is not recommended for products containing heat-pressed or printed designs.
6. Storage
Store garments in a clean, dry environment.
Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or excessive heat, as this may contribute to fading or deterioration of fabrics and printed designs.
Caps should be stored in a manner that helps preserve their shape and should not be crushed or exposed to unnecessary heat.
7. Cap Care
Caps should generally be cleaned gently by hand.
We recommend:

Using a damp cloth for light cleaning;

Using mild soap where necessary;
-
Avoiding bleach and harsh chemicals;
-
Avoiding aggressive scrubbing of printed or pressed designs;

Avoiding prolonged soaking; and
-
Allowing caps to air-dry naturally.
Do not place caps in a washing machine, tumble dryer or other high-heat environment unless the specific product's care instructions expressly permit it.
Excessive heat or improper washing may affect the shape of the cap and may damage its printed or heat-pressed design.
8. Printed and Heat-Pressed Designs
Some Tristan Jade Streetwear products contain designs that have been applied using printing and/or heat-pressing processes.
The lifespan of a design can be affected by washing methods, temperature, detergents, chemicals, drying methods, ironing and general use.
Minor changes in appearance over time may occur through normal wear and use.
Customers should follow the recommended care instructions to help preserve the design.
9. Damage Caused by Improper Care
Damage resulting from improper washing, excessive heat, bleach, harsh chemicals, ironing directly over a design, improper drying, alterations, misuse or other failure to follow reasonable care instructions may not be considered a product defect.
Where a customer believes that a product has a genuine defect, they should contact Tristan Jade Streetwear so that the matter can be assessed.
Nothing in this section is intended to remove or restrict any consumer rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.
10. Product-Specific Instructions
Certain products may have care requirements that differ from the general recommendations in this policy.
Where specific care instructions are provided on a product, its label, packaging or product page, those instructions should be followed.
